"But if Kronky were to hire a new coach (i dont think he will) it aint gonna be all rainbows and butterflies -- i mean every offensive and defensive player would have to learn a new system. Goff too. That aint somethin I am happy about. Maybe another year lost".
Well, here's the thing, wv.
Offensively speaking, here's what our current coaching system has yielded. Approx 30th place across the board. Completely unacceptable.
So, I see little choice other than to make the change at the top. If we don't, we'll be having this same conversation at midseason next year, and the years after that until Kroenke DOES pull the trigger. I have no doubt that the players can and will learn any new system that the new coaching staff demands.
As to the D coaching situation? I would hope that GW could be retained. He's customized his schemes and stocked his roster with "his" kind of players. And it's worked pretty well. Would have better stats with just the least bit of help from the O, I think. But if GW won't stay, or the new HC insists on bringing in "his" guy, then so be it.
The Rams should have the pick of the litter among new HC candidates. It would be a dream opportunity for any candidate. Simply pick their favorite and let him do his thing.
For heaven's sake, make their GM decision first, though. I favor "promoting" Snead to a real GM position. But if they prefer another person, then get him in the fold after a vigorous search process. Then he and Demoff should immediately begin the HC selection process. My point being that the GM would be responsible for final decisions on acquiring football players, whether it be draft picks, trades, or FA's. Do NOT let the new HC be another tail wagging the dog.
