I think Cooper is behind because he missed most of preseason, not because he can't play. I think he's going to become a good player. He was a very good value pick where they took him.
Kevin Curtis, Az Hakim, Isaac Bruce, Henry Ellard, Torry Holt, Flipper Anderson, Preston Dennard, Drew Hill, on and on. Look at what they did their rookie years and then look at their years 2 and 3. Not comparing Cooper to some of the greats but just saying judging him through 7 games when he missed 3/4 of preseason and was too hurt to play the first couple regular season games isn't fair.
At TE, Higbee is playing ~20 snaps/game but yeah not involved in the passing game much. But out of 27 rookie TEs 22 of them have 3 or fewer catches. So again I don't think he's really behind. He's on the field and learning. Before the season I thought he could be a 25-30 catch guy as a rookie. I don't see how anyone could have expected more. My guess is he ends up with 11-12 catches this year.
Forrest has played well the past 2-3 games as he's getting more reps. I think we'll be looking at him very positively by season's end.
