Right. 20% for 4ths? 10% for 7ths? Something like that.
Intersection of cost and value are the real story. The Rams got one year from Daryl Richardson, for example, in 2012. For the 252nd pick in the draft that's decent value. Same with Zac Stacy as the 160th pick of 2013, really. Even Rhaney (who I'm not a fan of) and Hager have to be considered half decent picks considering where they were taken. Zuerlein, Alexander, Gaines, Wichmann- all good late round selections. And this team's record with UDFAs is good. It's why I don't want them ever stockpiling late round picks. They're as likely to find players as UDFAs as in the 6th and 7th rounds.
Their two biggest draft mistakes to me remain (1) trading back from 4th to 50th in 2012 and taking Pead/Watkins vs. just staying and taking any of the three OLBs they could have had- and needed- Bobby Wagner, Lavonte David, or Mychal Kendricks and (2) trading up from #16 to 8 for Austin in 2013 vs. taking Hopkins and any one of several options at #41 overall..
