the Rams drafting on the offensive side of the ball is awful, terrible and downright pathetic. You qualify a hit as a starter, that's a pretty low bar for a team that does very little in free agency. i mean, someone HAS to start. Someone HAS to play significant minutes. That doesn't mean they are helping their team win.
Robinson starts, but is he helping his team win? Is he helping this team be above the 31st ranked offense? See what I mean. For a top 3 pick he is an absolute miss. Austin as a wr drafted 8th overall should be a difference maker. mike Evans drafted 8th overall is a difference maker, Beckham 12th overall is a difference maker, Julio Jones 6th overall is, well, you get the picture.
but then again, I'm not giving you the other 31 teams comparisons, so I fully expect you to call me wrong. And that's fine.
I don't think it IS awful or terrible. To me, awful or terrible is this (hits bolded, and on this I have a very lax criteria for a hit---someone who played a few years whether or not with the Rams and whether or not they were headcases):
2006-2008: Klopenstein, Byrd, Hagans, Setterstrom, Palmer, Leonard, Fry, Shackleford, Stanley, Avery,
Greco, Burton, Schuening. 13 picks, 1 hit. 7.7%
2009-2011: Smith, Foster, Null, Ogbonnaya,
Bradford,
Saffold, Gilyard, Hoomanawanui, Onobun,
Kendricks, Pettis, Salas. 12 picks, 3 hits. 25%
2012-2015:
Quick, Pead, Givens, Watkins, Richardson,
Austin,
[Bailey], Jones, Stacy,
Robinson,
Mason], Gilbert, Van Dyk, Rhaney,
Gurley,
Havenstein,
Brown, Mannion, Donnal, Sasser,
Wichman. I think we don't know yet on Mannion and Rhaney. Other than that it's 19 picks, 7 hits. 36.8%...with Mannion yet to be determined.
Bad was 7.7%. 36.8% to me means okay, could be better. Not "bad."
