I was suggesting the Rams trade Long when he still had value and the shortsighted thinkers were dead set against it.
So what happens...the Rams end up giving Long Millions, and let him go for nothing.
Kenny Britt? LOL In his 8th NFL season he's on pace for a decent year.
Btw 1100 yds for a receiver is not what it used to be.
D. Hopkins had 1300yds receiving last season from who at qb???
Ram bar is so low 68yds per game seems like a lot I guess.
I guess we see this one a bit differently, la.
Couple of things that make this an apples to oranges comparison, IMO.
1) You were clearly right about Long. The Rams released him 2 years later than they should have. Just for the record, I approved of his release. J Lau's too. But here's the thing. Long was in a steady decline AND grossly overpaid at the same time. Britt is in a steady 2 year incline and definitely not overpaid. And without stellar QB play, I might add. Can't let such a player go for a future 4th rounder. Just can't.
2) And the Rams (and their fans) should not be turning up their noses at a potential 1100 yard WR just yet, especially catching passes in this O from the likes of Keenum. Seems like forever since Holt had the last 1000 yard season for the Rams. TBH, Quick has pleasantly surprised me this year, too. I didn't think he had it in him. But if he keeps this up, I would welcome him back on a reasonable contract for '17. Never thought I would be posting that from my perspective of last summer, but there it is.
Speaking strictly for myself, I'm in no mood for letting productive O players get away next offseason. ANY productive O players. Right now, they're as scarce as hen's teeth. Lol.
