My initial response was no.
But then when I thought about it, I think you're right, I have heard people in all situations and all walks of life describe it to a greater or lesser degree.
And it usually emerges under duress.
In such situations it seems to me as though either life slows waaaaaaaay down, or speeds way up.
We should research this guys.

What happened?
Did life slow down so much that you threw up on it before it got to you?
Or, did it smother you and your lust for life dissolve?
