I love that kind of research ... and in my theorizing in psychology one of my main focal points is trying to find "extra" focus for calmness in critically chaotic moments.
Like how some guys, when in the zone, find that the ball is moving in slow motion ...
In the end it seems to come down to confidence ... and while confidence is contagious I have found that jitters are slightly more powerfully contagious ... and easier to be influenced by.
I would want to be an invisible analyst on the sidelines and see what moments in the game were taking guys out of their zone, or if it wasn't happening at all and all of it was truly just chance ...
Of course I haven't developed that technology yet, give me a few weeks.
