3-4 ... ugh.
It's interesting to watch the flow of posts from gameday (in a game decided by inches even though with 4 INTs they should have beaten us by a mile), the amount of emotion pouring forth ... like years of pent up frustration get to be released during any loss regardless of the circumstances. It makes my job as a psychological theorist really pay dividends, lol.
The question I think that is pertinent ... and it's psychological in nature ... "Would the rest of the team focus better if they were playing for Goff?"
We had more penalties and more passing game gaffes than normal .. and while the WRs hands and ability to run their routes is NOT on Keenum ... would the WRs focus more if Goff was at the helm? This is something I don't think we can know for sure, of course ... but I think it deserves to be asked.
The Good
1) Without Tru we basically shut down a great passing offense. If anyone had told me that we'd hold Eli to under 200 yards passing I'd have laughed in their face.
2) The playcalling on offense was maybe the best it has been, IMO. I'm enjoying Boras' expansion during the year. Yes he's still throwing too much at Tavon. But it's getting better.
3) Gaines multiple PBUs .. he looks to be getting better each game.
4) Beating Jenkins deep was sweet revenge.
5) Thomas' out of bounds catch.
6) TJ's back breaker hit ... controlled and not a penalty ...
The Bad
7) ... a lot.
The Ugly
8) 4 INTs. And None of them were "forced" crazy passes. None of them squarely on the QBs shoulders ... none of them where you can just plant accountability and fire someone. We can PLACE responsibility wherever we want ... but each one was the fault of multiple people. None of them can make me feel like there's a change we can make ... they all just leave me wistfully wishing for answers that cannot be given ... only jumped to in a frustrated and impotent fury as my team spirals into oblivion with no clear culprit ...
9) GRob leading the league in penalties.
10) My kids, Giants fans ... feeling sorry for me, but trying not to rub it in, because they understand that being a Rams fan is a life sentence ... not a choice.
Some Questions ...
11) The Goff question from the lead in? Anyone think that's the case?
12) What is going on with our O line? Is it just me or does a different person make a weird mistake every play? Is there a breakdown every play or is it just me?
13) Are there any trades that we can seriously entertain?
14) I know there are a lot of "Fire Fisher" folks ... but for those folks, who do you replace him with? Fisher has been one of my all time favorite coaches .. working with a team without money, and then working with a doomed cursed team moving to L.A. ... who would even want this awful job? I'm being serious here, and I'm not going to argue, I'll just listen ... I get in enough arguments on freaking facebook.
College stuff
15) I covered who I wanted with our first 2 picks (DE, FS ... Lawson, Luani) ...
16) OC I am liking Pocic of LSU ... he's long for an OC but he moves really well. Looking for more kids here though ...
17) Depth at CB is good ... there are some tough WRs that may last as well ...
