Any notion to the contrary is just silly and misguided.
You don't pay $500M in relocation fees and build a $2B stadium in Los Angeles w/o wanting to win.
This is Los Angeles not Dallas/Ft Worth. Stan knows he has to win in this town.
Stan has lived here a long time, he used to meet regularly with Dr Jerry Buss.
He knows this town loves winners, and if you're not winning you better be entertaining. This product is neither.
Stan's methodology was to get an experienced HC, and give him time to set-up his program and develop some continuity.
He did not choose Jeff Fisher on his own. He spoke to many people around the league whom he trusted.
Stan wanted to get it right. But wanting to win and knowing how to win are distinct.
I'm not mad at his intentions, he didn't want the Rams to continue to be a turnstile for NFL head coaches.
He just got it wrong, or did he? Fisher has put some pieces in place that I believe a competent HC can work with.
So maybe Jeff Fisher will turn out to be a means to an end. The impedance for a Rams revival.
In order for that to take place, after the season Stan needs to thank Jeff Fisher for his contributions and send him on his way.
The Rams have gone as far as they can go with Jeff Fisher as head coach.
Keeping Jeff Fisher any longer will undermine everything Stan Kroenke hoped to accomplish in Los Angeles.
Best,
Laram
