LONDON – If Todd Gurley hoped the Rams’ trip this week to London would remove him from the constant stateside chatter about his sluggish start to the 2016 season, he soon learned otherwise.
Turns out our British friends are very much in tune with what’s going on in Gurley’s world. Such as the staked walls along the line of scrimmage that defenses are building in order to stop him. The meager 346 rushing yards he’s managed thus far. His role as a decoy rather than a weapon. And the non-stop talk around the NFL wondering how much of Gurley’s struggles are a Gurley issue or a Rams offense problem.
If Gurley thought the 3,459 miles between America and London would lesson all that chatter, he was wrong.
In fact, almost from the moment Gurley stepped in front of the cameras and microphones awaiting his chat with reporters this week, the locals zeroed right in.
