I swear.

If I hear one more time about Fisher's moral victories and how the O is improving I'm going to puke. For him that is the measure of "success". Not wins.

The man has as much understanding of modern NFL offense as I do of stealth bombers.

He still thinks that the rules that favor the pass game don't matter except on defense. He refuses to take advantage on O.

Then, he goes out and drafts a gifted thrower but doesn't play him. He'd rather play a gifted hander-offer.

Problem is we have an oline that is better at pass blocking than run blocking, so our #10 pick RB constantly faces 8 in the box and safeties playing up close.

The man is so uncreative, so unable to adapt to the modern game, so unwilling to turn over the O to someone who can build a modern O, that he doesn't need to be retired, he needs to be stuffed and placed in a museum.

And now I'll have to suffer hearing that I'm a Fisher hater, and that we just need to have patience because 5 years ago he inherited a bad team.
Hey, I'm going by NFL time; not geological time. And I'm not getting any younger. I'd like to see a winning team before the grim reaper comes calling.

Won't happen with Fisher at the helm. He's taken this team as far as he can.

Several posts above, Zn brings up a good point. Fisher is the HC, he has a job to do. He has to lead and inspire his TEAM – not fans – even after hard losses. So when asked questions about a hard loss or where the team ranks in certain key stats, he could answer in a couple of ways.

He could say, “We lost. No moral victories here. I’m not happy with the team on offense, defense, or special teams. Our offensive stats suck. The players suck. They’re losers. Some deserve to get cut. I suck. I’m a loser. I deserve to get fired. Any questions?”

OR…

He could say, “We made some progress. We finally got the running game on track. That’s what needs to continue to happen for us to win. We made some mistakes and lost. We have to get that fixed. I’m not happy with where the team is at on offense or with where we are at in general on offense, defense, or special teams. Where we rank with the offensive stats isn’t good but I’m more worried about wins. And we’ll work hard to build on the areas of progress and fix the areas where we made mistakes.”

Now, if you were the head coach, which option would you go with? Some fans would be happier with option 1 because it would make them feel that he is taking accountability. But would that actually help the team? I’m thinking no…

Look, I don’t like Fisher. I never supported his hire. Mostly because I didn’t believe he was capable of building a team with a strong offense and still don’t believe that he can though I am hopeful. However, I never had a problem with his ability to build defenses, strong special teams, or as a leader of men.

He has several faults that sabotage his ability to be successful. But the way he is answering the question here is related to his job function of leading men. IMO, that actually is an area of strength for him. As such, he is walking that fine line between inspiring more production from his players and being critical of the results they are currently getting. I see no need to nitpick and misconstrue every little thing he says to the media.

Option 2 above is my paraphrase of what he was essentially saying. He mentioned the words “success” and “wins” so to say that those are not important to him and only moral victories are, is inaccurate. That is, if we are only judging by these words.
