I do like that we have been much better passing and that will lead to the running game getting on track...eventually.
I've been a very big critic of our passing game and playcalling - at times - but other than a few odd drives Boras is having CK throw more downfield and I like it. The running game will come on as long as we keep passing. It looks like we run more shotgun these days...I wonder if that's to help the transition of Goff?! I dunno, but man, I'd still do under-center, play-action passing nearly EVERY time with Gurley back there. Boras has done a pretty good job being creative but I'd like to see a few more decoy PA passing.
btw - Gurley is sure a force receiving out of the backfield...man, what a talent just like SJ and Faulk before him.
NOTE:
Goff is a more natural and talented
passer imo...that's what he does best;
pass the football.
CK is more a
mental passer in that he makes the right choice and has enough talent to get the ball to the open guy. Goff has better passing talent but does not yet know where the open guy will always be ....and so, will make mistakes that may cost us games. Putting Goff in
now might not be the time to gamble unless forced to
(ie CK injured etc)...and Goff will be starting here -
eventually - for a long time...
hopefully.
On a side note, I'm glad to see Bradford playing well...it's too bad it didn't work out here for him but we had to move on from him due to the horrific chances he was injured for a 3rd year straight...Fisher knew he'd be doomed.
