Fisher is great at reaching into a barrel of rotting apples and picking out the only one without a worm in it.
Here's the reality, the Rams have given up the 5th most yards on defense over the past 3 games. Yup, Rams are 28th in total defense over past 3 games with 399 yards/game.
On offense, we all know the Rams are 32nd for the year, but the Rams are 23rd best in yards/game with 317.7 over the past 3 games. And those were the 3 most productive offensive performances the Rams have had. My bet is that if you take every teams 3 most productive offensive games, the Rams would be at the very bottom.
You guys can do the math, but from where I sit you aren't anywhere near a playoff team with that.
Here's something interesting, a look at the bottom 5 teams in yards/game differential so far this year. The Rams are the 2nd worst team in the NFL by yielding 80.4 yards/game more than they've gained. Only Miami is worse at 97.2 yards/game differential.
-53.2 Cleveland
-61 Oakland
-78.2 San Francisco
-80.4 Los Angeles
-97.2 Miami
Also, you gotta wonder how long the Raiders can keeping winning games with last minute heroics. Their D really stinks.
But all I really care about is knowing what the Rams really are. And I'm thinking our 3-2 record is a bit misleading.
