I took what many have posted to be factual, but I have never personally heard it or seen it directly quoted. Might just be wishful thinking of people hoping that Goff can have some of the Dak or Wentz rookie QB magic. I had no reason to doubt the veracity, but it might just be wishful thinking on some fans part. Maybe someone else can.
Well did you ever see a direct quotation?
Because I can produce direct quotations that say he's coming along but probably not there yet.
I suggest not making it an issue of which posters you believe. I have seen this before---where there's a radio interview, and different people describe what they heard, and you get variations among them. Then the actual interview becomes available on a podcast and turns out none of the summaries were quite right. We;re fans, not trained forensic scientists.
So I always wait for the direct quotations. Too many times over the years, someone will say "they said X" when it turns out they actually said "X+2-1".
There's this for example, from last week. It was by Michael Silver:

That's a mixed statement. The way I take it is, he is not ready to step up as THE starter. They think they can put him in there if there's an injury or emergency. But they believe in bringing a guy along patiently.
I don't see anything in that that supports the naked direct unqualified notion that he is, right now, READY to be THE starter.
If anyone has a quotation---a direct quotation not a reported statement---saying without qualification "he is ready now," I would appreciate seeing it.
