I agree. It's one thing for him to have to go in if Keenum went down. But when the time comes announce it, give him the full prep with the 1s that week, etc. This is partly why I think following the Giants game and entering the bye week might be the time. He'd get a couple extra practices going into the Carolina game.
I know Keenum has been doing okay but Case has to understand he is not the man here for the long haul and there is no point to pretending he is.
We've seen he's limited in his ability. He's done an admirable job so far but he simply does not have the tools. He has the brains and he has the heart and he's probably going to make a great OC and maybe a Head Coach someday but he is not the future at QB.
Fisher and company need to make the call and this team needs to buy into Goff now.
