We may never know who makes those calls. If Fisher is having input on those calls why the heck have an OC.This offense is a mess.
We know that Fisher does not intervene at that level or call plays. He of course sets the general outlines for what his offense will be, and we know that he will make general suggestions at certain points in the game about strategy. But he's not an interfering HC with the offense.
We do know who makes those calls. You can even see it being done on broadcasts. They talk about it, we can see it, people who have reported on the Rams have seen things behind the scenes.
IMO much of the problem wasn't the playcalls in the redzone, it was the defense they were facing.
When the Rams, as they often do, shut down an offense inside the redzone and limit them to FGs, do we automatically go "oh the head coach must be incompetently taking over the calls from the coordinator." Nah, we go "good job defense." Well the Bills are very similar.
Actually in 3 of the last 4 games the Rams played against some of the best "points allowed" defenses in the NFL. According to PFR, they're all top 10. Seattle is third, Arizona is 8th, and Buffalo is 5th. And that;s with an offense that for various reasons is off to a rough start (OL, running game, receivers getting in sync and ending the dropsies). A lot of that is self-inflicted.
Detroit is 20th in points allowed and the Rams have another week of self-correction and motivation going into that game. It will be interesting to see if they can do anything with that.
