Fisher's plan this year was to suffocate the opponent with a smothering defense.....and have his offense limit the mistakes. He was willing to accept minimal big plays on offense. He figured the Rams defense would put them in a good enough field position where they only had to work a short field to punch it in. Then.....once they had a healthy lead.....the defense can pin their ears back and crash the QB.
But....this is not a suffocating defense. They have been giving up chunks of yards all year (barring the Seahawks game). The defense was getting the turnovers in prior games, which masqueraded the yardage issue. You can't get that every week. No turnovers yesterday....and we saw what happens. This offense doesn't have enough Juice.
So...if Fisher is honeset about Goff being ready......his only real option is to get him going. Case didn't do horrible yesterday. The last INT was just a toss up to keep the play alive. The first INT was not good. However, you KNOW Goff is going to toss an INT or two as he gets acclimated. However, Goff will also be able to make mid-long range throws that Keenum wouldn't even think of attempting. The Goff era needs to start now.....it's the best option to get things moving in a better direction.
