Rams might be lucking out on facing weak defenses this year

October 09, 2016 06:47AM
Four games is too early to get a real sense of where teams are defensively. I think you need about six or seven games to get a true sense. However, based on where things sit today, the Rams only face one team (Seatlle) who his ranked in the top 10 as an overall defense (by yards)....and only five teams in the top 20....leaving 6 teams in the bottom 12.

If this trend holds up, there will be plenty of opportune spots for Fisher to insert Goff. I would agree that the best spot is after the bye. Two of the first three games would be at home.

Another reason why I think it will happen after the bye is because the last time Fisher's team played in London they were completely dismantled immediately after the game started (45-7 blowout vs Patriots). I just don't have confidence that Fisher will have this team prepared, and there is potential for another embarassing game.
