RAMS TO CELEBRATE HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 – October 15), the Rams will present PILAR PINEL, President and CEO of Embracing Latina Leadership Alliance (ELLAS), with the Hispanic Heritage Leadership Award prior to the game. As part of the award, Pinel had the opportunity to select an organization that serves the local Hispanic community to receive a $2,000 donation and she chose Fiesta Corazon del Puerto.

In addition, Pinel will serve as the coin toss captain for the game.

A mentoring/leadership program serving the Greater Long Beach and Los Angeles Areas, Pinel founded ELLAS in 2003. ELLAS’ vision is to inspire and empower Latinas to broaden the perception of what they can pursue and achieve educationally and professionally. Pinel’s exemplary leadership and public relations etiquette, has gained her the recognition and respect of city, state and federal representatives, school districts, higher education institutions, law enforcement agencies and community constituency at large. On March 12, 2012, the Los Angeles County Commission For Women and the County of Los Angeles, Fourth District Supervisor Don Knabe, honored Pinel with the Woman of the Year Award for her on-going dedication and goodwill ambassadorship in the community.

Additionally, the Rams, in partnership with Corona and Univision 34, will host a special tailgate prior to the game at the Corona Extra Beach House. This tailgate will feature Hispanic cuisine, a special michelada mobile bar, a DJ and eight-piece Mariachi band, Corona giveaways and Univision talent and activities.

The Corona Extra Beach House at Gate 1 opens three hours prior to kickoff and offers premium beverage options and the chance to watch NFL RedZone, showing every touchdown from every game on Sunday mornings and afternoons. Fans must enter through Gates 1 or 28 to access The Corona Extra Beach House prior to general doors open.

The ultimate way to Find Your Gameday Beach ® for every Rams home game is at the Corona Extra Beach House outside the east end of the stadium. Kickback and enjoy a tailgate experience only Corona can deliver. Complete with relaxing chairs, shady umbrellas, a beach bar serving up ice cold Corona on draft and more, it’s the place for pre-game festivities. Visit the Beach House and celebrate the return of the Los Angeles Rams with a Corona.

Over the past month, the Rams celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month in a variety of ways. On September 22, they hosted a PLAY 60 Character Camp at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. PLAY 60 Character Camps are part of the NFL’s year-round Hispanic outreach initiative, focused on offering youth opportunities to play and experience the game of football while emphasizing exercise and reinforcing the importance of character in athletics and life. On September 29, the Rams introduced the Character Playbook education initiative at the Santee Education Complex, a LAUSD high school in South Central LA with a student body that is more than 90% Hispanic.

RAMS SUPPORT A CRUCIAL CATCH

The Rams are dedicating this game against the Bills as their A Crucial Catch game as part of the NFL’s campaign that supports the American Cancer Society and Breast Cancer Awareness, raising awareness for the importance of regular breast cancer screenings. Details about the ways A Crucial Catch will be integrated on Sunday include:

· The Rams will host a VIP tailgate and ultimate pampering experience for 50 women and men who have fought or are currently fighting breast cancer.

· Volunteers from Zeta Tau Alpha (ZTA) will also be outside the Coliseum passing out pink breast cancer awareness ribbons to fans as they enter the stadium. ZTA is encouraging fans to use the hashtag #ZTAThinkPink to show their support while wearing their pink ribbons.

· CBS 2 will showcase elements of A Crucial Catch throughout their broadcast of the game which culminates a week-long focus on the cause.

· Rams Chief Operating Officer KEVIN DEMOFF, who is participating in the ACS’ Real Mean Wear Pink campaign and is also a member of the ACS’ CEOs Against Cancer, will host local CEOs at the game as part of the team’s partnership with the organization.
