It wasn't just "an investment" that was made in Goff. "An investment" was made in Mannion too. You don't want to recognize the difference, that's your thing.
Goff wasn't "slated" to start? Not even sure what that means. The plan was empirically, indisputably for Goff to start. And again, if it wasn't, they are playing as many games as you are here, which is a very bad sign for the organization.
Thinking that if Goff turns out to be really good then it was a good decision misses the element of lost opportunity cost.
But thats what you get when you put the blinders on.
