one would think they won't chance losing Hayes for an extended period, so they'll bring Longacre
even though they signed the former Card CB, I don' think he'll be active; too soon, and not up to speed with Greg Williams
Also, up us EJ Gaines. But do they sit Troy Hill, over Coty Sensabaugh?
How to get Cooper and Spruce up and not sit a special teamer (Chase Reynolds?) or some additional OL, or LB?
Perhaps these are all small issues compared to getting Gurley freed up, and Kenny Britt healthy. But we did see some real issues along the DL late in the game versus the Bucs. Are the big guys still gassed?
I presume that the one player to look at in getting Cooper up is Mike Thomas. I'd be more inclined to activate Spruce for special teams and sit Thomas, but Thomas has been active on specials, and the group as a whole has been doing great in sealing Hekker's superb kicks. The second huge glitch in punt returns by Austin is cause for pause in my book. The error in SF; the error in Tampa. One starts to point at not allowing him to field kicks inside the 10. How many mistakes does one allow there, before it costs all your momentum, and a game.
Maybe it's a chess match. Maybe the guys were getting back in Gaines, Spruce, and Cooper aren't key additions. Keeping Donnal and Rhaney active may be required. But as I thought last week, sitting a Longacre in turn for a Pace Murphy? Unwise. Sitting a Troy Hill for a returning Gaines? Not my favorite idea.
