How many WRs in the NFL have averaged 1000 yards in the first 2 years of their career? Tell me how many over the last 30 or 40 years.
He came in with a good class that much is for sure and I wouldn't mind having the Giants WR for sure, but that doesn't change that the Rams are dead last in offense this year, dead last in 2015, and 28th in 2014 without Watkins.
The path chosen instead of Watkins has worked out so wonderfully hasn't it. Another 3 years - stretching the total to about 10 in row of no wr WITH 800+ yards with this team.
I know the Fisher is to blame for much of that with bad player development and bad offensive approach, but a WR would make a difference.
Meanwhile Watkins has missed games and yes he hasn't played the full 16 games and this year is a washout, but he gets more done in 3/4 of a season than a decade of Rams wrs has done.
Prorate his stats over 16 games and he probably is a top 10 WR on a bad offensive team with an unknown QB in bad weather with very little options other than Watkins.
