But it's concerning Paul. Look I don't want to be overly critical but it's concerning that the QB we selected is the 3rd string and appears to be no where close to starting. And the Rams offense having not scored a TD.
Wentz seemed like he would fit the Fisher offense perfectly. When you haven't developed a QB and your offense struggles year after year...people are naturally going to doubt Fisher and his coaches.
Just like when it comes to defense we generally trust his decisions there because there has been success on that side of the ball
And I like that you posted that last line, because we are being honest with ourselves and not agenda driven Fisher bashers. We see results and the truth of things. We are not just seeing what we want to see and believing what we want to believe. I`ve always been confident with Fisher as a head coach when it came to the defensive side of the ball. He does deserve a lot of credit there. I Just NEVER had confidence in him from day 1 when he was hired regarding the offensive side of the ball. After he hired Schotty, the pit in my stomach got deeper and more painful.
When the Rams announced they had traded up to #1, I 100% thought it was for Wentz and felt like an idiot when I was wrong, lol. I thought he was the perfect type QB that Fisher was looking for and could come in right away and make some plays with both his arm and his feet. I thought we had a Big Ben type QB coming to LA.
How would any young QB, including Wentz really flourish in this current Rams offense? I feel bad for Goff, only because I think he does have the talent to be a real solid QB in this league. There are lots of obstacles for him to overcome and I hope he doesn't keep hanging his head when he has his fails like we saw at the end of preseason. The main reason why I don't have confidence in Goff succeeding is because I don't have confidence in the coaching staff and Fisher`s personnel decisions building an offense around him. Seven 1st round draft picks over the last 5 years and the offense looks like this? Total crap!
