Blinkscout Season opener 2016 ... My son: "Are they drunk?"

September 13, 2016 08:47AM
I can be pretty objective and unemotional the following day, my anxiety issues force me to recover quickly from losses like this, so I had my fury in the 3rd quarter last night, and turned it off with ten minutes left in the 4th. I feel a lot better today, though not about this football team.

The Great ... (I rarely have this for losses, so this is going to be a tad different)

1) Keenum has shown us his limitations. He cannot get the ball deep, or even make far hash throws, so the defense simply does not have to respect it. They can just play on the LOS until he beats them deep a few times ... which is unlikely to happen. Not having to defend the whole field ... everything he would normally be able to do gets twice as difficult.
If they keep Case as the starter, they have to throw deep.

2) Whatever drug they slipped into the opponents locker room air filter, man I want some. My guess would be opium ...

3) The look on Fisher's face in the late 3rd quarter.

4) The fact that the media won't accept this kind of garbage in L.A.

5) No one on the team can excuse or hide from what happened last night.

The Actual Good

6) Mark Barron played a good game. His pass breakups showed me something we rarely see when a LB covers a big TE.

7) TJ played pretty well.

8) Cam Thomas was solid.

I honestly can't think of anything else.

The "Why did you guys think that was a good idea?"

9) Why is Sensabaugh on the field? Where is Troy Hill? I'm sorry ... did I miss something there?

10) Why is the O line shuffled? Did no one see what was going on and say "Hey, they're better with Wich and Brown at OG" ...

11) Why are there no shots downfield? What are we worried about? An interception? There were two of those anyway.

12) Why was the offensive gameplan not changed when we saw it wasn't working?

13) Why were the backup D line in as much as the starters?

14) Why is Brian Quick on our team?

15) Why was getting a Center not a larger priority in the offseason?

The Bad

16) Most of it.

The Ugly

17) Team body language.

18) Joyner with 2 penalties and 3 missed INTs.

19) Tavon dropping the football.

20) The penalties.

21) Getting gashed in the run game ... that hurt physically.

22) Getting our butts handed to us by Blaine Gabbert and Jeremy Kerley.

23) My inability to remember a throw going further than ten yards.

24) Case Keenum throwing the football ... on the first INT ... into the BACK OF HIS O LINEMAN.

25) How easily the 9ers read our minds on offense.

26) The INT to Kendricks ... I don't understand where he was throwing. Kendricks was bracketed.

27) Being shut out on Monday Night Football.

I felt bad for the announcers.
