I think you're right.
Also just guessing, but Fisher likely hopes that Gurley lights it up early and often so all those play-actions force the defense to bite. But I think he puts the cart before the horse. The passing game has to free up Gurley first, so he
can light things up, which then, ironically, helps the passing game, etc. etc. It's just synergy. Each aspect of the offensive gamplan needs to enhance the rest. The best offenses have it. The Rams just can't seem to create it. In fact, it seems that they're doing the opposite.
