At that point they signed Kush, Arkin, and Folkerts.

I brought it up at the time because all 3 were examples of a type of player Boudreau gets stuff out of---young vets who have been with a team or 2. Guys like Barksdale.

I remember the discussion because it led to some skepticism. I was told in no uncertain terms that not one of those guys would make it through the first cuts. My response was, I don't rule out players like that with Boudreau. He has a whole career turning up guys like that, finding one here or there who sticks, and making something out of them. I said I would not bet against 1 of them making it.
