I seriously doubt they'll do like the Rams and move forward trusting that Bridgewater will be the same guy next year, or that he will stay healthy. They have a very good roster and need someone who might be able to improve through the season instead of run into a brick wall when defenses start taking away what they're good at, as you see with career backup types. At least with a younger QB who has potential, that upside allows for some hope aside from just using him as a game manager.
They're gonna have to pony up and bring in someone, no way around it. And overpaying, you might as well get a guy with upside.
