I actually and seriously believe our QB's would have been better off with a filing cabinet at LOT.
The filing cabinet couldn't get faked out on an inside move. The QB would KNOW ahead of time that the rushers were coming around the outside, and fast. He could then act accordingly without any false belief that someone was going to block on that side.
The filing cabinet, if sufficiently loaded, couldn't be bullrushed straight into the QB, the way Williams was into Mannion. The worst it would do is tip over and create an obstacle that the DE would have to negotiate to get to the QB.
The filing cabinet has sharp corners and might give the DE pause before trying to cut too sharply around the edge. Williams doesn't have any sharp corners.
