1st off I am not drinking spiked kool aid, nor am I about to make up excuses for the play up till now......I see a group of rookies brought into a team that was known last year as in BIG need of WR help. So these kids come in and see a place they may stick for that above reason. I can see some major jitters by way of just being human.....You may get uptight because if you make a mistake you may be gone....and what happens when you think about mistakes....IMO you make them.
If these guys went to a team where they did not have to perform lights out from the get go they may have been playing better, or at the least not so up tight.
Now Quick is kind of an example of how you react to poor play he played and caught everything his way. My concern with him is he may just be like Cook, who would show this 1 game and revert back the next...hence not become a solid reliable type cat. I like Quick, always have I wanted to blame the coaching staff more than him.....Maybe I was wrong on him....Maybe not......
Going back to the rookie WR's , I am more concerned that they run the proper routes and proper depth to the routes than at this time catching all the balls......catching balls can be done by way of hours on the jugs.....like Holt used to do.....
I see the hollering for a need of a #1 WR and we don't have one.....I hear it......but some of these guys need to 1st learn the position and what is called upon in the NFL vs. college play......I don't like the drops anymore than anyone else.....but I would rather have them at least running correct routes...catching can be done after practice......
I am not in the group of saying we need WR's on this team quite yet......no more than I am thinking that Goff has not lived up to point. I like our WR coach based upon his ideas withe tennis balls and how the players have responded to him. Rookies WR can't all be Holts and even Bruce did nothing but ST play his 1st year......I am not defcon 1 at this moment......I still have my hair in place....and my TV screen is still entact.....and I would never kick my dog.......
Let this play out....give the QB time to throw.....run the routes.....let them calm down and I think the drops will go way for the most part......
