When you add in the average play at QB, this tells me the Rams feel the forward pass is an overrated aspect of tackle football.

This is Fisher ball and that's why I shouldn't have expected him or his offensive hand picked 2nd year coaches (Weinke and Boras) to be qualified to get their 21 year old franchise player to look more polished than he does.

Weinke is in his sophomore season as an NFL QB coach and Boras was just given his job title as OC last December. Boras has no experience in developing a young QB at the NFL level. In most cases the Offensive Coordinator/play caller is the most important coach/player relationship which goes without saying...

Anyway back to your point... With the current cast of WR's and Gurley being a rare specimen RB, the run first mentality is by default with or without Fisher ball. At least the depth of the Running Backs has looked strong in the preseason..

Rushing Statistics (Preseason 3 Games)

Malcolm Brown..........27/155.. 5.7.. 0 TD
Benny Cunningham... 14/83... 5.9.. 1 TD
Terrence Magee......... 10/99.. 9.9.. 0 TD

Aaron Green.............. 10/45.. 4.5.. 0 TD
Todd Gurley................. 4/20.. 5.0.. 1 TD
Chase Reynolds.......... 4/11.. 2.8.. 0 TD
Tavon Austin................. 1/3... 3.0.. 0 TD
