My observations on tonights loss in Denver

August 27, 2016 07:59PM
1st team offense and defense played very well and even dominated in this game.

Rams went to the scrubs too quickly. Not sure as to why the whole sale changes on defense in the 2nd quarter. To me it was too soon.

Goff is clearly not ready to be number 1 and I think we need to put this to bed and forget about it until next season. Keenum is by far and away the number one QB on the Rams.

# 13 Michael Thomas needs to go to the practice squad. He cannot help this team.

Lance Kendricks seems to have a good connection with Case Keenum. He seems to be a favorite target of Keenum early in each game and has consistenly caught the ball this summer.

#48 Cunningham and #84 Hemmingway did not impress in this game.

#63 Williams at left tackle is a turnstile and needs to be cut. or moved inside to guard. He is a hazard to any Ram Quarterback's health.

Brian Quick stepped it up and had a good game catching the ball. He's at least bought himself another couple weeks.

#20 Joyner is overrated and cannot play corner.

#47 Roberson I think should be cut.

#35 Jordan and #24 Bryant look like good prospects. They may be headed to the practice squad.

#54 Hager may be the best middle linebacker on the team and Ogletree needs to go back to WiL.

Akeem Ayers needs to be 2nd string on the depth chart. He's a liability as a starter.

Longacre should be moved to LDE opposite Quinn. He's our most effective edge rusher and he needs more playing time.

#92 Cam Thomas is a good addition. He can definitely help.

The shine came off Sean Mannion tonight. He never allowed for the fact that Williams at left tackle was the reason you had to go to quick paases and shorten the routes. He showed a lack of pocket presence tonight and took sacks he should not have.

Final thought. I don't care how good the player looks in the uniform. I don't care how good an athlete he is. If he's a receiver and cannot consistently catch the ball he should not be on this team.

Catching the ball is still a real problem for this group of receivers. I think the Rams should be looking the waiver wire over for receivers or even try to trade for a proven pass catcher.
