Our 1st string got it handed to them......the players who won that game ....some of them will be lucky to make the team...some will go to practice squad.....very few will make the real roster...IMO.
“The 1st string got it handed to them.” Problem is, that’s not true.
The 1st string D gave up 7 points; the 1st starting offense led by Keenum scored 7 points. Go watch the tape. The 1st string D played one series. Ayers and Joyner played a bit more. I don't believe one of the starting 7 on D played more than the first series. It was the 2nd string that got it handed to them. They were outscored 10-0.
Here’s the order of events:
ST – 0 - 7
1st string – 7 – 7
2nd string – 0 - 10
Halftime score: 7 - 24
3rd string – 21 - 0
Final score: 28 – 21
Don’t get me wrong, the starters played like crap. But it wasn’t this out and out butchering that I was led to believe from reading the board. I learned the truth watching the game myself and rewinding many times.
Not a whole lot can be learned from one series of play from the starters.
Also, the major players who won the game were Mannion, Spruce, Brown, and Higbee. All of those guys will likely be on the final roster.
Forgive me for not wholly buying into your negative rant.
