For those who made it to their seats by kickoff, the Coliseum was electric tonight- inside and out! Only Preseason, but a win is a win!!!
First let me say, Goff looked a little nervous in his first series. His int was caused by getting hit on the release. Goff does stand in there and keep his eyes down the field with pressure in the pocket. Second series, he looked good with two big drops by receivers. The throw to Cooper should have been a big gain down inside the 10. He did have a couple of completions to Higbee. Higbee looks to be as special in games as he has in practice. I was disappointed Goff only played a little more than a quarter. The kid needs reps!
As I shared in a few camp reports, Mannion continues to shine. I have read all the critics talk about how slow he is, but as I recall, a certain qb in New England is always referred to as super slow and immobile. He did avoid the rush a few times. Mannion accounted for 3 tds by the Rams O. Even if with the 3's, he got it done with what he had. Did Snisher ever give the kid a chance last year? I like Goff, but what a savings of draft picks or should I say waste of picks if Mannion turns out to be our qb. If both of these young qbs continue to improve, Case could be looking for another team. I like Case, but he is too short and not enough arm strength.Congrats to our second half Def who shut down the Cowboys offense. Way to go to Spruce who dominated the game winning drive!!! Those who watched the game on tv, what do you think of tonight's game?
