Basically the passing game has underachieved. The WR have physical talent but produce little results. They run bad patterns and are fundamentally lacking.
The scheme is horrific with 6 plays and the opposing defense able to sit on a play based on the alignment. So predictable. They don't use the entire field and it gets so crowded for Gurley.
Gurley is a once in a generation player and if they provide him space, he is a 6 yards per carry 2000 yard rushing player.
They have gotten better getting Austin the ball in space, but they get nothing out of the other WRs and the TE. Hence being more predictable.
The QB play is also lacking fundamentally and QBs seem to regress here because it gets difficult with a crowded field and predictability. Remember Foles did a good job with the Eagles and actually had a 27 TD 2 interception seasons with them. But he developed bad habits with his footwork, his drop backs, and reading the field as the predictability and clutter made it difficult for him to get any rhythm and confidence. Hence, that was the cause of the "meltdown". Also, Robinson leading the lead in penalties and mistakes would give the QB an uneasy field as you have no idea what he may do on a given play.
Simply put, Robinson has been a disaster so far and has completely been a very slow developer with top talent but bottom tier results. I think you can see he could be a good one but the time spent developing him has been missed playoff opportunities and we have lost defensive players as we have done this 1960's minor league baseball play with Robinson.
There is no reason the offense can't be at least average. I think they are still lacking at WR, but the guys they have are better than in the past but are just under performing.
Having the #1 pick with a QB should help, but I lack confidence in the coaching him up to play to expectations.
The bottom line: Fisher needs to change and take a hands off approach.
