That he was surprised Goff looked as far away as he did, not that he wasn't already ready to be "the guy." Especially, as he said, given the positive reports of his progress coming out of the last OTA's.
The expectations are massive based on how much the Rams gave up to get him and being the first overall pick. When you give up that much for a single player, you kind of expect him to fall into the unusually good sooner than later category. Like it or not, the pressure on him to perform and perform well sooner than the typical QB is going to be great, especially being in Tinseltown now. I'm going to assume part of the evaluation process included a determination that Goff was the kind of player and personality that could and would handle that with aplomb.
In contrast to the reports that Carson Wentz has exceeded expectations so far and has at times even looked farther along in his grasp of the offense than Bradford and is an early standout in Eagles camp, it is a little concerning. Could all mean nothing, but given a choice, I think we'd all rather the reverse was the case.
