Or maybe the one observer who reported he looked uninterested just wasn't seeing it right, which happens. Think of the number of different body language signals that could be mistaken by an outside first-time observer as "lack of interest" after seeing him in just one practice. And that has nothing to do with the credibility of the camp reporter...people just sometimes "mis-see" a thing or 2 ... in fact everyone does now and then.
