Holdover injuries from last season, he played down the stretch with them. Its likely precaution no need to rush if there is even a hint of lingering issue.
Might be a solid opportunity for Battle or Williams to get some reps as well and improve the depth more.
Hav will be ok and we all know he can play.
I'm getting kinda concerned now, Rusty.
Calf and ankle? Geez, it's been 7 months now. That seems like a lot of time to have fully recovered for a young twenty something player, especially with modern training and rehab technology.
I read a post elsewhere by a person claiming to have insider info, and he has said that this Hav thing might be more serious than they're lettin on. He first posted the caveat before the PUP announcement, btw. Sooooo...
The RAMS never said it was his calf or ankle. A reporter speculated about that.
Here's what it could be. And all of these have happened before without the Rams saying so at the time. He could have had surgery and still be recovering. It could be that he had a setback so needed surgery. It could be that whatever it is, it isn't the calf or ankle, he needed more recovery or needed surgery plus recovery and they just didn't tell us what it was or anything about it.
Last year we first found GR hurt his toe, then MUCH LATER, found he had surgery, and THEN at the end of the season found out that recovering from the toe surgery last well into the season.
The truth is we have no idea with this bunch and if we do find out it will be much later.
And not knowing what it is does not make it automatically BAD. It could be that sitting him now is just being cautious and there's no big deal.
I do know they can handle losing one ROT, even if it's Hav.
For the line to be continuous and effective, they just need three guys to be consistently healthy---the LOT, the OC, and one more (and it doesn't matter as much where the 3rd one plays). Of course that only works if they have depth, and, they went out of their way to make sure they did have depth.
