Thought I'd give an update. I know a little bit ago someone posted that they didn't have any luck getting it free yet.
I called last night, immediately requested retention dept.
"Every year about this time I call in and ask for some discounts to keep my bill down. Because I've been with DTV for so long I usually get some nice promotions and NFL Sunday Ticket for free. Can you help me out?"
It was that easy. If it doesn't work the first time, call back tomorrow. I've done the same thing every year for the past 5 or 6 years.
Ask for the moon, you might get it.
And yes I got NFL Sunday Ticket Max.

I've gotten Sunday ticket MAX free + other things for each of the past 9-10 years but this year I already have $50/month for 24 months so they keep telling me there's nothing else they can give me so I cancelled my NHL package and then 2 days ago they started tweeting at me because I was killing them on social media. They asked me to take it off line to IM's and today they re-stated they still can't give it to me for free but they'd look in to giving me a discount......so I await their response.
Honestly though, never had any trouble in years past, this does seem much different and mind you I've spoken to 4 different people in retentions, none I would say who sounded very eduacated, and even a supervisor who, after a 45 minute call was about to do "something for you because you've been with us for so long.." when the call dropped (damn you Sprint!!) and to my disappointment she did not call me back.
