In looking at last year's authentic jersey, it appears as though you're right. But I also think that it's pretty clear that the font size of the #'s is significantly bigger. That's what I thought I was getting. But in reviewing the JCP catalog (which is essentially the same as the NFL Shop), it looks as though all the 'ol school jerseys are set up that way (i.e. smaller #'s).
I really think that the #'s on my jersey look disproportionate to the entire scheme. I saw a couple of throwback Dickerson and Faulk jerseys where the #'s appeared to be the right size, but I'd need to cough up an additional $50 for one of those.
Nike now makes three different types of jerseys.
"game" jersey is the low end replica style with the printed numbers and your basic style jersey they sale for $99
"Limited" jersey is a step up with the sewn on numbers but the same basic design as the "game" jersey for $149
"Elite" jerseys are the closest thing to the true authentic game day jersey and sale for $299
The throwbacks you saw were prolly the Mitchell and Ness ones they sale for $149 now days .....
Unfortunately it looks like the only "limited" throwback that Nike offers is Quinn??? I'm sure that will change soon as the season gets closer....but where is the Goff, Gurley and Donald's already ???
And all the "Elite" jerseys are custom, you pick number and name you want for $299...
Glad you tracked down that scandalous mail man!!!
Your jersey looks great!!!
I got myself an "elite" style Gurley throwback jersey from some guy at my work who orders them from China once he gets over 10 orders...everything looks great, except the yellow is like a true throwback from the early 70's
At first I hated it, but for the price, I couldn't complain.... now I kinda like that "way old school" look it has
I'll try and post a pic soon...
