To see what he will get if he hits the market...I would wager he will be paid very well by someone if the Rams choose to let him go.
I cant see them doing it, they just dont have enough on O to let a 10 td player walk regardless of how he scored them.
10 tds is 10 tds and there arent that many guys who scored that many TDs in the NFL last year. There are 22 total players in the NFL for 32 teams that scored that many or more.
To me its even more impressive what he has done when you figure in the Rams limitations and the fact that other teams know what the Rams are going to do and how they are going to use him.
Stack the box....the Rams still ran the ball decently with Gurley and Austin. If they can ever really threaten teams with the passing game both Gurley and Austin are going to be trouble for any team to stop.
Well, this is a new year, Rusty.
We've added some intriguing new moving parts to the former league's worst O.
Goff
Cooper
Higbee
Thomas
Spruce
Plus a few other UDFA possibilities at WR.
I suspect that this new crew will be night and day more effective than last year's.
If I'm right, then opposing D's will no longer have the luxury of 8-9 man boxes to stop Gurley and Austin. And Austin will be free to shine as we all watch his playmaking status rise even further.
If he doesn't improve when surrounded by much upgraded weapons, however, then I think that the Rams will have to think long and hard about giving him that non guaranteed $12 million for '17.
