So then calling out the play at the LOS so both O and D can hear it is just a 'preference'? And as such equates to any other 'preference'?
Being 'diverse' doesn't mean changing up everything every week. It means having a full range of game plans utilized in selective manner to both attack and counter different teams incorporating various tactics including 'surprise'. The same tactic may work in back to back weeks, or even 3, 4, 5 games.. usually does, I think.
I'm not fine with a 'preference' that doesn't work.... even if when planned it seemed the best 'preference' if it wasn't I want to know why, and how to fix it. "Well it should have worked and does sometimes" is not a good approach. - JamesJM
Well yeah no one likes an offense that doesnt work.
But whether or not it works, which is basically due to execution and personnel and relative un-injured-ness, is independent of the issue of what TYPE it is.
BTW, if you're implying this, I never bought that the 2012 offense was predictable or didn't change up.
