Over the past few years I have had a more difficult time getting the cost of NFL Sunday Ticket lowered. After almost 17 years with DirecTV I feel I merit some sort of discounts.
I was wondering what some of you plan on doing this year. I received a letter with the cost now $45 for six months. $270 without the bells and whistles.
Thanks in advance.
It's like buying a car. If you're not willing to actually leave the dealership without a new car, and it's all a bluff, you're probably going to pay full price. Be ready to actually drop the service if necessary.
Ask for customer loyalty straight away. Be polite to the rep. Say you're a long time customer, and you think you should get at least as good a deal as new customers. Ask them what they can do to make you want to stay. I've found that by pausing the conversation, here and there, the rep will sometimes add even more discounts. Let them try to convince you, etc.
The above has worked pretty well for me, though last year was the toughest yet. Had to call back a second time before I got a good deal. If you aren't happy with the deal being offered, don't accept it, and try again later.
That's my two cents.
