Here's another that I feel deserves it's own thread...

Los Angeles Rams: Goff-Gurley Combo Could Be Devastating

It’s still early with a long way to go, but the Los Angeles Rams may have set themselves up for length contention due to their move up to get Jared Goff.

This is not saying because Goff is a good quarterback, which he can be but because he can be a good quarterback teamed with who the Rams already have on the roster. That being running back Todd Gurley. Just one year into his NFL career and the guy is a Pro Bowler. Just 21-years old, he should have a long, bright future ahead of him. Especially if Goff develops as he should in the months and years to come.

When asked about it, Goff could hardly contain his excitement.

“Great kid. Couldn’t ask for a better QB. We are just excited to have him (here),” Gurley said. “He’s definitely learning. He’s getting better. Just excited to play the upcoming season with him.”
Los Angeles is probably giddy about the prospects as well. History in pro football has shown teams tend to win lots of games when they have a good quarterback and good running back paired in the backfield. In fact he are a few recent examples of a QB-RB combination that featured two Pro Bowlers at the position at the same time.

Cam Newton and Jonathan Stewart: Reached Super Bowl
Russell Wilson and Marshawn Lynch: Won Super Bowl
Teddy Bridgewater and Adrian Peterson: Made Playoffs
Tony Romo and DeMarco Murray: Made Playoffs
Alex Smith and Jamaal Charles: Made Playoffs
Ben Roethlisberger and Le’Veon Bell: Made Playoffs
The pairings are different, but the results tend to be the same. If Gurley and Goff play like they’re both capable of, the Los Angeles Rams are going to finally be playing football in January. Gurley finished 2015 with 1,106 yards and 10 touchdowns in just 13 games. He figures to be the focal point of the offense. Head coach Jeff Fisher and his staff likely hope that Goff can take advantage of his presence through the use of play action and an efficient, ball control style of attack until he begins to better understand how to read coverages and attack through the air.

Fans will have to be patient. Such things take times, even for a #1 pick. One thing is for sure. If the Rams maintain a stable situation around their young quarterback, limit the distractions and Gurley stays healthy this offense is going to be something special in the next couple years.
